Teresa M. DeLuca, 67, of Hudson, MA, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at the Reservoir Center in Marlborough, MA, surrounded by her loving family.
Teresa was born in New York, NY, daughter of the late Mario and Anna (Pesce)DeLuca. She was raised in Saddle Brook, NJ attending local schools and graduated from Saddlebrook High School. Following high school, she attended William Paterson University in New Jersey earning her Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, and eventually going on to earn her Master’s Degree, which she received from Montclair State University in New Jersey, in computer science. She spent the majority of her career working as a computer programmer, most recently working for Raytheon as a Cyber Security Manager.
Teresa has resided in Hudson since 1994 and was involved with various different groups over the course of her time living in Hudson including the Unitarian Church of Marlborough and Hudson, the Hudson Garden Club, The Friends of the Hudson Public Library, the Hudson Senior Center, as well as volunteering at Farley Elementary School helping students with their reading.
Teresa is survived by her 2 daughters, Kara Kinz and husband Robbie Hay of Hudson, MA, Lily Kinz of Hudson, MA; her brother Mario DeLuca and his husband Frank DeLuca Rodriguez of Oakland, FL; her sister Ann Marie Lugo of Toms River, New Jersey; her niece Nicole and husband Robert, and daughters Romina and Lyanna of Florida; her niece Jessica and husband James of New Jersey; her nephew Richard and wife Aisha, and daughter Scarlett of New Jersey along with other relatives and friends that she cared so much about.
Teresa enjoyed keeping busy. She loved being outside tending to her garden as much as possible, a love she learned from her father. She also loved taking care of her bees and her chickens, ofteen listing them in addition to the four cats and one dog that she had as pets. Teresa was a lifelong animal lover, always having at least a few cats running around her house, spending any time she could spare visiting horses that her friends kept, and in her younger years volunteering at the MetroWest Humane Society in Ashland, MA, and even spending some time working as a Veterinary Technician.
Above all else, Teresa loved and cared about her two daughters, cherishing every moment that she was able to spend with them.
Teresa will always be remembered for her unique giving and loving spirit by those who loved and knew her.
Calling hours for Teresa will be held on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 4pm-7pm, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA. A Memorial Service and celebration of life will beheld on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, beginning at 10am at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home; followed by procession to Forestvale Cemetery, Broad Street, Hudson, MA.
