Thomas Anthony Kashuba, 77, of Bolton, MA, passed away peacefully at home on May 13, 2025, surrounded by those he loved.

Raised in Rochester, NY, and educated at Stevens Institute of Technology, Tom parlayed his gift for problem‑solving into a five‑decade career designing software and systems that kept trains on schedule and businesses running smoothly. Tom’s career threaded through finance, transportation, and cutting‑edge IT, yet he always saved room for “side quests”: fashion shoots in Montreal winters, predawn hikes for the perfect foliage shot, and late‑night radio contests where his call sign (never to be forgotten by fellow operators) lit up the ether.

When he wasn’t writing code, Tom’s home study overflowed with camera lenses, radio transceivers, and prototype circuit boards. His family loved that no dinner conversation was off‑limits—from quantum mechanics to the perfect espresso.

Carrying his indomitable spirit forward are his wife Rona, step‑daughter Jessica, brothers Ed and Ken, and a circle of friends who knew to bring an extra battery pack whenever Tom said, “I have an idea.”

A private graveside service will be held; arrangements are with Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home of Hudson. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the COPD Foundation in Tom’s memory.
