Thomas P. Kehoe, 94, of Hudson, MA passed peacefully on Thursday, September 22, 2022, with family by his side. He was predeceased in 2009 by his beloved wife of 52 years, Sandra K. (Kingston) Kehoe.
Thomas was born in Enniscorthy, County Wexford, Ireland on July 10, 1928. He was one of ten children born to the late Andrew J. Kehoe and Alice (Murphy) Kehoe. Thomas was predeceased by eight siblings: Johannah Reddy, Philip Kehoe, Margaret Kehoe, Peter Kehoe, Andrew Kehoe, Declan Kehoe, Mary Kehoe and Aidan Kehoe.
Thomas leaves his devoted daughter Kathleen A. Temlak and her husband David of Hudson, MA; his cherished granddaughters Shannon A. (Temlak) Delano and her husband John of Richmond, VA and Kimberly N. (Temlak) Stone and her husband Tyler of Herndon, VA. Thomas is also survived by two sons, his sister Dymphna Norton and her husband Bob of Stow, MA as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Thomas immigrated to the United States in April 1949 and resided in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, MA. Thomas was a self-made man; driving a truck for Whiting Milk Company and working as a buyer for Elliot Lounge were two of his earliest Boston jobs. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951 through 1953 and was a veteran of the Korean War. Thomas worked as a carpenter by trade throughout the Boston area. He served as a Massachusetts police officer for over 13 years with the Belmont Police Department and retired in 1973 due to serious injuries he sustained while on duty. Thomas resided in Belmont and Waltham, MA during his years as a police officer and later settled in Hudson, MA where he lived for the past 37 years. Thomas was a member of Saint Michael’s Parish in Hudson, MA.
Over his lifetime, Thomas spent endless time enjoying his passion for reading and writing. While growing up on farmland in Ireland, Thomas developed lifelong skills as well as a love of animals and the outdoors. He always loved Irish music and in his later years filled his home each day with the sounds of Irish radio broadcasts. Being a religious and faithful man, he provided warmth and loyalty to family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 4-7pm, Friday, September 30, 2022, at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Laurence “Ren” Tocci at 9am Saturday, October 1, 2022, at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St, Hudson, MA, followed by a procession to Forestvale Cemetery in Hudson for Committal Services.
