Hudson

Virginia A. Gibson, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her residence on November 13, 2025. Born on August 14, 1942, in Waltham, Massachusetts, Virginia was proud of her roots. In 1965, she and her husband Arthur J. Gibson moved to Hudson, where they raised their family and created a home filled with love and warmth.

Virginia dedicated many years of her professional life to Raytheon’s Northborough facility before retiring. Afterward, she began a lighthearted and enjoyable role at Sears, where she was adored by customers and coworkers alike. She was known for her warm, infectious smile and her genuine love working with people. Her career reflected a strong work ethic and deep devotion to her family. Her spirit was full of kindness and warmth, always eager to embrace life and remain present for those she loved.

Family was at the center of Virginia’s world. She cherished time with her children and later delighted in her grandchildren. Wednesday family dinners were especially meaningful, creating memories filled with conversation and laughter. She loved card games, classic movies, and spending eight wonderful summers at Hampton Beach and Adam’s Campground. Cruises with family and friends brought her additional joy, offering moments she treasured throughout her life.

Virginia is lovingly remembered by her children: Kenneth Gibson and his wife Kathleen of Hudson, MA; Janice Gibson of Clinton, MA; Susan Mace and her husband Ronald of Hudson, MA; and Daniel Gibson and his wife Lisa of Rochester, NH; her two sisters, Lorraine Harrington of Waltham, MA and Marilyn Griffin and her husband Paul of West Yarmouth, MA. Her legacy also lives on through her grandchildren, who adored her dearly: Jessica Fournier and her husband Christopher of Boylston, MA; Thomas Gibson of Worcester, MA; Christopher Boutwell of Hudson, MA; Joshua Belanger and his wife Leena of Fall River, MA; Janelle Graziano and her husband James of Stoughton, MA; Larissa Mace of Worcester, MA; Makenna Mace of Hudson, MA; Ariana Mace of Hudson, MA; Kaylee Townley of Rochester, NH; Eddie Lobato of Rochester, NH; Garrett Gibson of Rochester, NH; and Olivia Gibson of Rochester, NH. Virginia was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends, all of whom hold her memory dear.

Virginia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Arthur J. Gibson, with whom she shared 42 years of marriage. She was also predeceased by her parents, Francis Finney and Mary (Devlin) Finney, and her sister, Joan Brackett.
