Virginia M. (Prockett) Sousa, 81, of Hudson, died suddenly Monday, Aug. 30th at Marlboro Hospital. She was the wife of the late William Sousa who died in 1996.
Virginia was born in Pleasantville, NY, daughter of the late Manuel and Mary (Gonsalves) Prockett. She was a lifelong resident of Hudson and was employed as an Administrative Assistant by the Raytheon Company in Sudbury for 25 plus years until retiring in 1992. She was an active member of the Hudson Senior Center and an avid bingo player. Virginia always looked forward to her frequent trips to Foxwoods Resort and Casino with fellow members of the Senior Center or just an occasional trip with friends. She was a member of Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson.
She is survived by her children, Rosella Galofaro and her husband Stephen of Hudson, Norman Dube of Houston, Texas and Michael Dube of Leominster. She was predeceased by her son, Steven Dube in 1975. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Lisa, Jason, Seth, Jared, Mitchell, Maddison and Michael Allen; her great grandson Christopher and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late, Manuel, David and Alfred Prockett.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 4th at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michael's Church, 21 Manning Street, Hudson. Burial will follow in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson. Calling hours will be held on Friday, Sept. 3rd from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.
