Aside from his family he very much enjoyed gardening, fishing, taking care of his yard, and home projects. He was also actively involved in the Portuguese Club, Saint Michael's Parish, and also volunteered and worked for Imperio Mariense.

Antonio leaves behind his loving wife Lurdes Sousa Carvalho; his daughter Michelle LeBlanc and her husband Brian of Leominster, Lesley Carvalho and her significant other Cristiano Rovero of Millbury; his brother David Carvalho and his wife Natalia of Hudson; 2 sisters Natalia Freitas an her husband Joao of Hudson and Maria Freitas of Montreal; 2 grandchildren Lucas and Audrey LeBlanc. He leaves behind his nieces and nephews Regina, Zenalia, Marcia, Jesse, Vanessa, Tracy, Ashley, and Cassandra. He also leaves behind his sister-in-law Maria F. Carvalho of Hudson.
