Barbara Jean (Mayuski) Nunes

Barbara Jean (Mayuski) Nunes, 66, a lifelong resident of Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, July 4, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.  She leaves her beloved husband of 46 years, Stephen O. Nunes.

Barbara was born in Hudson, MA on September 8, 1954, the youngest daughter of the late Stanley and Mildred “Peggy” H. (Nugent) Mayuski.  She was raised in Hudson and graduated from Hudson Catholic High School in the class of 1972.

Barbara most recently worked as the Church Administrator for the Unitarian Church of Marlborough and Hudson before eventually retiring.  Her life’s work was the love, support and mentorship she provided serving the youth during her time at the Hudson Youth Center, Boys & Girls Club of Metrowest and Hudson Catholic High School.  She was a devoted wife and loving mother of two sons and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Spending time with family and friends mattered most to Barbara.  She loved family vacations on Cape Cod, sun-bathing on Race Point Beach and creating laughter and adventures with her friends.  Undeniably, she was the life of the party wherever she went.

In addition to her beloved husband, Stephen O. Nunes, she is also survived by her two sons, Corey S. Nunes and his wife Natasha of Newton, MA and Ryan O. Nunes of Wilmington, N.C.; her two siblings, Stanley “Moose” Mayuski and his wife Susan of Hudson and Alice “Gail” Crowley and her husband Raymond “Ron” of Hudson; her father-in-law, Oliver F. Nunes, Jr. of Hudson; her brothers-in-law, Jeffrey M. Nunes and his partner Dennis Callahan of Hudson and Glen D. Nunes and his wife Judith of Dennis, MA and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 10 am - 12 pm on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA; immediately followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 12 pm in the funeral home.
