Obituary

David O. Ringland of Stow, MA passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on December 26, 2021 only weeks after his 83rd birthday.

David was born in Boston, MA on December 1, 1939, of late James Ringland and Mary (Crawford) Ringland.  He was predeceased by his sister Mary Ringland Borges of Cambridge, MA.  He was raised and grew up in Acton, MA where he attended Acton High School before joining the Navy.  After having traveled the country, he returned home and attended Northeastern University.  While back in Massachusetts he met Ellen, the love of his life.  After marrying on September 16, 1967, they moved to Stow, MA where they raised 2 children and became fixtures of the community in both Stow and Hudson.

David spent the majority of his career at Polaroid Corporation and came out of retirement several times to join his work buddies in subsequent projects.  He ultimately retired from Koch Industries to spend the rest of his years with his wife instilling loving values into not only his 2 children, but also his 6 grandchildren.

David was deeply involved in every aspect of the upbringing of his children from coaching sports teams and attending sporting events to everyday life activities for both his children and grandchildren.  He and his wife made sure to help however they could throughout their children’s time at both St Michael’s School and Hudson Catholic High School.

David was accomplished with many things in life and always ready to lend a hand to whomever needed it on a moments notice.  Those who knew him will always remember his jovial character, his general breadth of knowledge, his strength and determination, as well as his energy to traverse the tri-state area to provide Polish delicacies to his wife and family.

He was often seen around town with his shotgun-riding dog, his trusty sidekick Anja.  David was well respected, well loved, and will be well missed by many.  His legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those who knew him.

David leaves his wife Eleanor (Haczynski) Ringland of Stow, his daughter Julie (Ringland) Hart and her husband Matthew Hart of Marlborough, his Son David Ringland, Jr. and his wife Stephanie Ringland of Hudson, and his Grandchildren Emma Ringland, Alannah Hart, Ariel Ringland, Fiona Hart, Sophia Ringland, and Vivienne Hart.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 9:00 to 10:00 on Friday, December 31, 2021, at Tighe Hamilton Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA.  Funeral Service will be held at 10am.
