Flauzino De Oliveira

April 4, 1946 — December 30, 2021

Hudson

Flauzino De Oliveira, 75, of Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at UMass Medical Center University Campus, surrounded by his loving family, after a period of declining health. He leaves behind his beloved wife of over 48 years, Luzia Da Penha (Goncalves) Oliveira.

Flauzino is also survived by his 3 sons, Marcius C. Oliveira and his wife Leslie of Marlborough, Vinicius G. Oliveira and his wife Kelly of Hudson and Fillipe G. Oliveira and his wife Jessica of Fuquay Varina, N.C.; 6 siblings, Ruth De Oliveira Gomes, Arlene De Oliveira, Marisa Faroni, Romeo De Oliveira, Jorge De Oliveira and Ronaldo De Oliveira; 8 grandchildren, Jordan, Tyler, Myla, Sophia, Adriana Christiano, Aaliyah and Selena Oliveira; nieces, Karine Goncalves, Anne Goncalves De Sa, Graziela De Lima, Camila Lyrio, along with many other nieces and nephews.

Flauzino was born in Cachoeiro de Itapemirim, Espírito Santo, Brazil on April 4, 1946, a son of the late Antonio and Maria (Das Neves) De Oliveira. After finishing high school he later met his beloved wife Luzia and eventually they settled in Rio De Janeiro, where they began their family before immigrating to the United States in 1984.

Throughout his life Flauzino was steadfast in his Catholic faith and served as an eucharistic minister at Saint Tarcisius Parish in Framingham and Saint Michael's Parish in Hudson for many years. A proud Brazilian National, he cherished his roots and was a fierce soccer fan especially when it came to cheering for his two favorite teams, Clube de Regatas do Flamengo and the Brazilian National Teams. Flauzino was also a generous and caring person, who helped many of his fellow Brazilians get settled in the United States as they first immigrated from Brazil. As a result he and Luzia have formed many lifelong friendships  in the local Brazilian community. Above all else, he was a family man who loved to spend time with his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Due to recent Covid surges all services will be private. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Michael Parish at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Memory of Flauzino De Oliveira to Alzheimer’s Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601; www.alz.org.
