James S. Bennett Sr.

James S. Bennett Sr., 53, of Holden, MA formerly of Hudson, MA died on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at his residence unexpectedly.

James was born and raised in Hudson where he attended local schools. Following high school, he began working locally for several companies and settled into a position with Darmann Abrasive Products in Clinton, MA. He spent 20 years there and was currently working for Saint-Gobain Manufacturing Company in Worcester, MA.

James leaves his wife, Lisa M. (Myott) Bennett of Holden, MA; his parents, Richard E. Bennett Sr. and Linda L. (Johnson) Bennett of Hudson, MA; his two sons, James S. Bennett Jr. of Florida, Ryan A. Bennett of Fitchburg, MA; his daughter, Mackenzie L. Bennett of Florida and his brother Richard E. Bennett Jr. of Hudson, MA. He also leaves his many other relatives and friends.

James was brought up on Lake Boone in Hudson, MA so swimming, canoeing, boating and fishing were always a big part of his life. Many of those experiences he shared with his children. He also found motorcycles an enjoyable hobby which he shared with his sons along with various other activities such as cooking, collecting knives and playing music (just quietly enough to avoid having the neighbors send a complaint). His public persona had an appeal that drew others to him with his charming sense of humor, and carefree attitude – never failing to arouse a smile. He cherished spending time with family and will be missed by all who loved and knew him. Those who knew him would agree that he was a jack of all trades, yet master of none. That said, whatever he put his mind to he would take charge and own it. James loved nature and nurtured his loved ones with the same love and care.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family and Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749 is assisting the family with arrangements.
