Joseph M. Kacoyannakis

Joseph M. Kacoyannakis, 63, of Hudson, MA, formerly of Framingham, MA died Saturday, April 29, 2023, at Marlborough Hospital after a period of declining health.

Joseph leaves his two sisters, Janet M. Cummings and her husband Kevin of Framingham, MA, and Rosemary Kacoyannakis of Hudson, MA. He is also survived by his nephew Sean Cummings of Framingham, MA; two nieces, Allison Helberg of Attleboro, MA, Catherine Cummings of Mansfield, MA; his great niece Dorothy Helberg; great nephew Theodore Helberg along with other relatives and friends.

Joseph was born in Elmira, NY, son of the late John A. and Magdalen L. (Ehl) Kacoyannakis. He was raised in Horseheads, NY attending local schools and was a 1978 graduate of Thomas A. Edison High School in Elmira Heights, NY. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Physics and Astronomy from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Long Island, NY in 1985. After graduation, Joseph spent many years working in the retail industry until retiring due to his health.

Joseph always enjoyed spending his spare time as a script writer, coin collector, Framingham Access volunteer, and an amateur photographer.  He enjoyed many hours taking photographs and posting them on Facebook to share with family and friends.  He was an avid reader and a student of history, science, nature, and many other interests. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and a loyal friend to many. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Family and friends may attend a period of visitation from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA. Interment and a graveside service will be held at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Horseheads, NY at a later date to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joseph may be made to a charity of your choice.
