Judith E. (Sawyer) Wilson

Judith E. Wilson, 79, passed away peacefully Friday, November 20, 2020.  She is predeceased by her husband of 25 years Robert Wilson.  She is survived by her children: Robert “Bob” Duckworth and his wife Lisa of Richmond Hill, GA and Joanne Burke and her husband Hugh of Auburn, MA; her grandchildren: Ryanne Burke, Connor Duckworth, Austin Duckworth and Erin Burke; her nieces and nephews: Kenlyn Sawyer, Matthew Sawyer, Mark Sawyer, John Sawyer, Patrick Murphy and his wife Tomeca, Colleen Devine and her husband Eric, Meaghan Alexander and her husband John, along with several cousins and friends.  She is predeceased by her brothers: Kenneth Sawyer, Thomas Sawyer and Richard Sawyer, and her grandsons: Michael Duckworth and Sawyer Duckworth.

Judith was born in Clinton, MA the loving daughter of the late Kenneth and Josephine (Murphy) Sawyer.  She graduated in 1958 from Hudson High School and remained friends with her classmates for 60 years. Judy worked as an administrative assistant for many years with Digital Equipment Corporation. Judy was always willing to lend a helping hand, she was a leader in the Girl Scout organization, president of Parents Without Partners, secretary of the Elks, Judy volunteered for the Berlin Rescue Squad, Clinton Hospital Guild, and St. Joseph’s Women’s Club. Always social, Judy was a part of the Red Hat Society, Richmond Hill Craft Club, Ladies of Ancients Hibernian, Toast Masters, Band camp, and FNC. She shared her love of the outdoors with her children that included spending time in her big garden in her backyard, camping all around New England, or spending summers at Indian Ranch.  Judy immersed herself into the communities of Auburn, MA and Richmond Hill, GA, where she became known as “Nana” to all of her grandchildren’s friends.

All are invited to attend her visitation on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from 4-7pm in Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home, 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749.  Her Mass of Christian Burial is Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 11am in St. Joseph the Good Provider, 52 West Street, Berlin, MA 01503 followed by burial in South Cemetery, Pleasant Street, Berlin, MA.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to 19carter.org, “19 Carter”, 19 Carter Street, Berlin, MA
