Manuel M. Carvalho, 80, of Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully, on Monday, September 14, 2020, at Marlborough Hospital, after a brief illness. He leaves his beloved wife of 50 years, Maria Rosa (Monteiro) Carvalho.

Manuel was born in Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal, on September 18, 1939, a son of the late Manuel and Maria (Puim) Carvalho. He was raised in Santa Maria, where he finished school and met the love of his life, Maria Rosa Carvalho. Together they immigrated to the United States in 1969 and shortly after settled  in Hudson, MA, where they have resided for the past 50 years. Manuel worked as a machine shop operator for Digital Corporation for many years. He was a longtime member of Saint Michael Parish and the Hudson Portuguese Club. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed reading the bible daily. He was the happiest when with family.

In addition to his beloved wife, Maria Rosa Carvalho, he was also survived by his 4 children, Elizabeth M. Carvalho of Shrewsbury, James M. Carvalho and his companion Sandy Martins of Shrewsbury, Dennis Carvalho and his wife Renee of Cary, N.C. and John M. Carvalho and his wife Rebecca of Yarmouthport, MA; 2 siblings, Jose Carvalho and his wife Palmira of  E. Hartford, CT and Filomena Monteiro of São Paulo, Brazil; 4 grandchildren, Kelsey Carvalho, Nicholas Carvalho, Rhiannah Carvalho of Shrewsbury and Ava Carvalho of Cary, N.C. and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his siblings, Antonio Carvalho, Joao Carvalho and Maria Tavares.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of visitation from 9 am until 10:30 am on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA; followed by a procession to Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St. Hudson, MA, for an 11 am Mass of Christian Burial and interment in Saint Michael Cemetery on Cox St. in Hudson, MA.
