Maria Evelina Cabral

Maria Evelina Cabral, 90, of Hudson, passed away peacefully on Monday December 28, 2020 at Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Northboro.

Evelina was born in Arrifes, Sao Miguel Acores; the youngest daughter of the late Manuel de Jesus Cabral and Margarida Avila (Sousa) Cabral. She immigrated to Hudson in July 1966 where she lived until 2015 when she moved to Beaumont in Northboro.

Evelina worked in a few factories over the years: Diamond Shoe Co from 1966-1969, Arrow Automotive Industries Inc from 1969-1980, and finally at an aerospace manufacturing facility in Marlboro MA from 1980 until she retired in 1997. She never married or had children but enjoyed spending time knitting, baking and being with her nieces and nephews of whom she was closest to Maria Margarida Melo of Hudson, Alfred Botelho of Hudson, Evelina Ramelli of Berlin, Sandy Dias of West Boylston, and Lucia Silva of Hudson. She was Godmother to many of her nieces, nephews, and grandnieces Margaret Melo Sullivan of Hudson and Dorothy Melo Forde of Clinton. Though she never had her own children, she was a second mother to many.

Evelina is survived by seventeen nieces and nephews and many more grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Mary Coute, Jose Cabral, Lauriana Botelho, Constantina Barrigas, Angelina Botelho, and Manuel Cabral.

Services will be private.  For those who would have liked to attend, the funeral Mass will be live streamed at www.stmikes.org/watch-mass-live on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 9am.
