Maria C. (Jacques) Medeiros

Maria C. (Jacques) Medeiros, 92, of Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 24, 2018, at Marlborough Hospital, surrounded by her family, after a period of declining health. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband of 45 years, Manuel D. Medeiros, who predeceased her in 1996.

Maria was born on October 27, 1926, in Terceira, Azores, Portugal, a daughter of the late Antonio and Maria Gloria (Barros) Jacques. She was raised in Terceira and after finishing school she married the love of her life Manuel Medeiros. Together they settled in Sao Miguel in 1959, where they resided until they immigrated to Hudson with their children in 1980.

Maria was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who loved spending time with her grandchildren, whom she helped raise. She also enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting and sharing her beautiful creations with her loved ones.

Maria is survived by 5 children, Daniel Medeiros and his wife Maria, Ana Roque and her husband Joao Luis, Rosa Bairos and her husband Helio, Luisa Tavares and Samuel Medeiros; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her daughter, Lidia Viveiros.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2018, at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St. Hudson, MA; followed by burial at Saint Michael Cemetery in Hudson.
