Maria Piedade (Batista) Figueiredo

Maria Peidade (Batista) Figueiredo, 68, of Hudson, passed away peacefully, on Monday, December 10, 2018 at Wingate of Sudbury, surrounded by her loving family. She joins her beloved husband, Jose Chaves Figueiredo, who predeceased her in 2001.

Maria was born on April 6, 1950, in Santa Maria, Azores, Portugal, a daughter of the late Jose and Filomena Chaves. Maria was raised, attended school and spent her early years in Santa Maria. Her and Jose immigrated to Hudson in 1983. Maria was a member at St. Michael Parish in Hudson and worked in town as an assembler at Fourstar Connections until she retired.

Maria was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother and life at home revolved around her family. She loved watching her granddaughters play soccer and preparing her delicious meals for the family. Maria was proud of her Portuguese roots and enjoyed attending the many festivals in town throughout the years.

Maria is survived by her two sons, Paul J. Figueiredo and his wife Danyela of Hudson and Arsenio M Figueiredo of Hudson; a sister, Tersinha Chaves of Ontario, Canada; a brother, Jose Batista and his wife Natalie of Hudson; three grandchildren, Katelyn L. Figueiredo, Amanda Figueiredo, and Emily Figueiredo; a great-granddaughter, Isabella M. Dube and many nieces and Nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to a period of calling hours from 5 pm until 8 pm on Thursday, December 13, 2018, at TIGHE HAMILTON REGIONAL FUNERAL HOME, 50 Central St., Hudson, MA 01749. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 am on Friday, December 14, 2018, at Saint Michael Parish, 21 Manning St., Hudson, MA; followed by a procession to Saint Michael Cemetery for interment.
