Samuel (Sam) Manzo, Jr.

Samuel Manzo passed away peacefully Saturday, September 18th 2021 at UMASS Memorial Marlborough Hospital.

Sam leaves his loving wife of 31 years, Margaret (Peggy) (White) Manzo.  Sam was born on August 18th, 1943 to the late Samuel Manzo Sr. and Gertrude (Blanchard) Manzo.  He was raised in Uxbridge, Massachusetts. He was employed for many years at the Department of Public Works in Hudson Massachusetts prior to that he worked as a semi-truck driver. Sam and Peggy were married July 14th, 1990 in Hudson Massachusetts.

Sam is survived by his sister Helen from Florida, his brother Richard Manzo from Colorado, his brother Tony from Whitinsville and predeceased by his sister Margaret (Manzo) Deguzman and brothers Roland and Jerry Manzo.

His daughters Menna (Manzo) Laforest from Rhode Island, Deanna (Manzo) Ciaks from Blackstone and Samantha Manzo – Rhode Island.

His step children Cathy Cilly – Princeton Maine, Lori Diadone – Princeton Maine, Sharon Guilbeault – Blackstone, Tina Harpin – Uxbridge, Joy (McIlveen) Stockwell – Clinton, and Holly (Cox) Gray – Gardner.

His grandchildren Tim Thornton – South Yarmouth, Sam Thornton – Rhode Island and many other grandchildren.

His great grandchildren Kyle Thornton and Levi Thornton.

His step grandchildren Lindsey (Stockwell) Lawrence, Melissa (Stockwell) St Cyr, Shealyn Gray, James Gray and Connor Gray.

His step great grandchildren Jacob Lawrence, Jenna- Kate Fischer, Courtney Lawrence, Dalton Fischer, Haley Lawrence and Lydia Lawrence.

His best friends Bob Ducharme – Saco Maine and Joe Rego – Hudson.

Sam enjoyed fishing (ocean and fresh water), country music, cooking, dancing and going to the casinos occasionally. In his younger years Sam was a stock car driver racing at Westborough Speedway. Sam was self-taught in the areas of rod and reel repair and had a small successful business as a hobby for a while. He often travelled to the many flea markets in the state buying, selling and trading while enjoying the company of his fellow connoisseurs of the recycle. He enjoyed the time spent teaching his grandchildren the art of the angler.

To be considered Sam’s friend was an honor. Sam’s greatest joy was his wife, Peggy.

Sam will be missed by all who knew him and strongly by all who loved him.
