Sandra L. (Goland) O’Neill, 80, of Berlin, MA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at River Terrace Rehab and Nursing Center in Lancaster, after a period of declining health.

Sandra was born on July 24, 1939 a daughter of the late Ernest and Shirley (Randel) Goland. She graduated from High School in Berlin, New Hampshire and subsequently earned an associate degree from Becker Junior College. She went on to have a long and successful career as an administrative assistant at Digital Corporation, eventually retiring after many years of dedicated hard work. Sandra resided in Sudbury for 24 years where she raised her family, several post-retirement years on Cape Cod, and 18 years in Clinton, spending the last 2 years in Berlin.  She was a longtime member of Trinity Congregational Church in Bolton, MA.

Throughout her life Sandra has remained an active person, who cared deeply for all of God’s creatures. She enjoyed figure skating, biking, walking, hiking, and skiing. She was an active member of outdoor activities organizations such as the Nashoba Valley Pedalers and Walk ‘N’ Mass Volkssport Club, and her love for dogs led her to become a volunteer for B.O.N.E.S. (Beagles Of New England States) Beagle rescue. Sandra had the gift of gab and enjoyed making new friends by striking a conversation with those that came across her path. She was a customer favorite at the White Hen Pantry in Concord and Apple Country Market in Clinton, where she also worked as a cashier.

Sandra is survived by her three daughters, Mary Ellen (O’Neill) Bush and her husband Rogers of Georgetown, S.C., Jeanne Margaret O’Neill of Greenfield, MA and Elizabeth Anne O’Neill and her partner Jeffrey Dame of Natick; a brother, David Goland  and his wife Jane of Shrewsbury; her sister, Jean O’Rourke of Hilton Head, S.C., a Brother-in-law, Louis Loeb and his wife Andrea of FL and several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her sister, Ruth Loeb.

A celebration of life will be held at Trinity Congregational Church, 14 Wattaquadock Hill Road, Bolton, MA on Friday September 20th at 6:30pm.

The family would like to acknowledge Emerson Hospital Home Care, River Terrace Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center and Beacon Hospice for their compassionate care.
