Thomas J. Vanzini, 73, of Hudson, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at UMass Medical Center in Worcester. He is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife of 39 years, Linda (Uzialko) Vanzini, who predeceased him on May 17, 2008.
Tom was born in Marlborough, MA, on October 20, 1946, a son of the late Mario and Alice (Brissette) Vanzini. He was raised in Marlborough and graduated from Marlborough High School in the Class of 1965. After high school Tom bravely served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Upon his return Tom continued serving his community as a Hudson Firefighter, retiring after many years of dedicated service. Tom moved to Hudson in 1968, shortly after marrying his beloved wife Linda.
He was a well-known and active member of the Hudson community and a longtime member of the Hudson-Concord Elks Lodge #959, Hudson VFW Post 5791 and Riverside Rod and Gun Club. Tom also enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with the “retired misfits” at honey dew every Sunday morning. Above all else Tom loved to spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his great- grand daughter.
Tom is survived by his three daughters, Lori A. Buckley and her husband Edward of Berwick, ME, Molly A. Hipson and her husband Christopher of Hudson and Kristi Melvin and her significant other Richard Treggiari of Brockton; his brother Richard Vanzini and his wife Mary Lou of Marlborough, MA; his sister Sandra Fouracre and her husband John of Northborough; 5 grandchildren, T.J. Buckley, Zachary Buckley, Jordyn Hipson, Christopher Hipson and Kaycee Melvin and great-granddaughter, Kennedi Buckley. He was also predeceased by his infant son, Thomas Mario Vanzini.
All services will be held privately at a later time. Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home is honored to be assisting with his arrangements.
